Good short reads but the first, Angel, is my favorite and definitely took me off guard, as it was meant to (I say smiling). I also really enjoyed Bright Light Fright. It has a haunting quality that I know will make it stick with me. Short stories are such a different animal and I like the way one can fit them into a busy world when there’s no time or inclination to delve into a full-fledged novel. Good short stories can have the same weight and impact on the reader in fewer words. I enjoyed these.

Nine Lives edition by Terry Tyler Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I'm not much into short stories, but I picked up this collection by Terry Tyler because I luuuurve Terry Tyler's books (and if you don't there's something wrong with you!) I enjoyed this collection of nine stories - some left me with feeling of "No? Is it over? But what about...?" Others were very clever; really liked Mia and also Happy Birthday.
this is a collection of short stories about life. No happily ever after, just a look at little pieces of people's life and truths. The stories are interesting and will give one food for thought.
She's done it again! Terry Tyler knows how to entertain the reader while presenting her story. In this case it is nine short stories. Each has a message carefully wrapped in delightful prose. And just when you think you know how a story will end, she pulls the rug out with another surprise. Great job!
I practically devoured this short story collection! One of the best I have ever read! Loved the writing style, loved the characters, loved the plot, loved everything and wanted to read more!
My favorite story was ''Don't Get Mad, Get Even''. Stroke of genius.
Highly recommend the book and hope Terry Tyler writes more short stories in the future!
You know that saying, "I wish I could be a fly on the wall", which people say when they want to know how others behave in certain circumstances? In this collection of stories, Terry Tyler allows us to be that fly on the wall. These stories prove things are not always as they first appear. When we look a little closer at people and their lives, we're often surprised by what we see.

Tyler's talent for creating believable and likable characters has quickly made her one of my favorite authors.
NINE LIVES is an enjoyable short story collection delving into the lives of various characters who could indeed be described as having nine lives in terms of their resilience.

I liked all the stories, and the subtle comic elements of these gave a depth to the events depicted. The more serious stories, though, were also interesting, and the showcasing of the characters' psychological elements were very compelling.

I also liked the fact that each story had a sting in its tail, but this was not the raison d'etre for these, rather, reflecting a cogent culmination of events. Some of the stories would well do with expansion, as there was the impression that the respective themes could be explored in a longer format. Well done.
I finished reading Nine Lives last night. I've been reading these stories most evenings lately and I think I can honestly say I found every one of them neat and truly satisfying. I've only recently started reading short stories, but I love the genre now - if they are good - and Terry Tyler's Nine Lives are really good. It's hard to say which one I liked best, but I think probably Mia, because the ending was such a surprise (brilliant!) and I loved Happy Birthday as well (very fitting for the last life). But that's not to say I thought any less of the others. I didn't. Angel also had a great twist at the end, and I wanted to die in We All Fall Down. I was dreading what was going to happen. Terry Tyler is immensely skilled at bringing normal people to life. You feel as if you know them yourself, but maybe that's because we've all known people like them. Her characters are real, flawed and familiar, and these stories are also about very familiar situations but always with an unexpected twist. Extremely well-written and cleverly crafted, Nine Lives fulfil everything I expect (or hope for) in short stories. Even though I know the endings now, I am certain I'll come back to these again. Well done Ms T!
